Naomi + Parcella - LGBTQ Borthwick Castle, Scotland Elopement

An intimate destination elopement…in a 1,400 year old castle…in Scotland. How do you possibly say no? How do you possibly do it justice?

Naomi + Parcella, after a long, winding, often heartbreaking road, chose to celebrate their love in the most fairytale fashion you could imagine, and we were honored to be there, every step of the way, to help them capture it.

Our time together began with a meet-up in Edinburgh for the once-in-a-lifetime experience of the Samhain (Halloween) festival, and we quickly became amazing friends. The next day saw us meeting again, just south of Edinburgh in the lowlands, with rolling hills and autumn colors exploding everywhere.

They chose Borthwick Castle, built in 594, to host their extremely intimate, emotional, and completely intentional elopement celebration. With worn stone steps from centuries of use, walls that have endured cannon fire from Cromwell’s army, ancient trees, leaded glass windows, gate houses, and haunted stairwells, it was the perfect place for hallowed words to be spoken to one another.

Together, we chased the light for hours until it faded off beyond the Western hills, and candlelight filled the great hall.

We are so lucky to do what we do, to not only provide destination elopement photography for people sharing such vulnerable and beautiful moments, but to stand witness to love in such a pure and honest form, and to be allies to the LGBTQIA+ community in a meaningful way.

This was an elopement we’ll never forget, and never stop feeling thankful for.

Here’s to you two, Naomi & Parcella, and to the most fairytale ending you could ever imagine.
