Alec + Tashia - Helena, MT Intimate Wedding

After realizing the catastrophic failure to maintain a blog of our recent work, I’ve been deep diving back through our previous weddings, destination elopements, and random photoshoots and realizing just how many amazing Montana weddings we have been lucky enough to photograph.

As we rapidly approach what will be their 10th anniversary, I re-found some of our favorite images from our dear friend Alec and Tashia’s intimate wedding in Helena, MT about 9 years ago. They had a storm that rolled through just prior to ceremony time, that provided quite possibly the most dramatic group photos we’ve ever taken. The rains passed, the clouds broke apart, and the wedding went off without a hitch the entire day.

The light we captured that day has never left us, and we were able to photograph some of the most romantic, stunning images of those post-stormy skies.

We love photographing in Montana for the same reason we’re always so drawn to elopements in Scotland—there is a quality of light here (and in Scotland) that you cannot replicate anywhere, and it always is changing. You truly cannot ever look at the same sky twice.

Alec + Tashia knew this, and they were so amazing at wandering off into the Big Sky, trusting us to capture them, only minutes and hours after speaking their vows to one another.

Here were some of our favorites, from one of our favorite Montana weddings
